Some Place Nick Waterhouse & the Turn-keys

Nick Waterhouse & the Turn-keys

This is music you should be listening to.

I ordered my vinyl from Pres Records yesterday and you should order yours too.  Or if vinyl’s not your thing and you like something a little more portable, grab the mp3 on iTunes.

“I was drawn to all the wrong things: I liked to drink, I was lazy, I didn’t have a god, politics, ideas, ideals. I was settled into nothingness; a kind of non-being, and I accepted it. I didn’t make for an interesting person. I didn’t want to be interesting, it was too hard. What I really wanted was only a soft, hazy space to live in, and to be left alone.” —Charles Bukowski (via classicvinyl)

If you could go to only one concert before you died, which artist would it be?

Past and present?  If so, I’d have to say I’d go see Billie Holiday or maybe I’d catch the Rat Pack at the Sands, it’s hard to tell.

Carey! Love the blog sir. So, I need some manly advice. It's the last big storm before spring and I am getting first time drinks with a gentleman tonight. I have been advised not to wear my favorite new rain boots in lieu of sex pot heels, but its storming outside! I feel like a good pair of rainboots (paired with some cleavage) shows that I'm practice and really like to jump around in puddles! Thoughts? -cassie

Hi Cassie,

Thanks very much for your thoughtful compliment; I’m glad you like my blog as I’m a bit of a fan of you ladies as well. As for your question, I don’t know your gentleman caller so I can’t speak as to which he would find more attractive. That being said, if I were the lucky fellow I would rather see you in your new favorite rain boots and I have a couple reasons for this. The first is that I love to see a girl in a pair of good boots (rain boots included). Second, if you’re wearing your boots you have the opportunity to be a little more care free. You can concentrate on having fun on your date and not have to worry about slipping or falling or messing up your heels and this way you’re ready for whatever fun the night may bring, no matter how big the puddle.
